Riverdale

Riverdale Summary:[
Set in the present day and based on the iconic Archie Comics characters, "Riverdale" is a surprising and subversive take on Archie (KJ Apa), Betty (Lili Reinhart, Surviving Jack), Veronica (Camila Mendes), Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody), Josie (Ashleigh Murray) and their friends, exploring the surrealism of small town life -- the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale's wholesome facade.
As a new school year begins, the town of Riverdale is reeling from the recent, tragic death of high school golden boy Jason Blossom - and nothing feels the same... Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) is still the all-American teen, but the summer's events made him realize that he wants to pursue a career in music - not follow in his dad's footsteps - despite the sudden end of his forbidden relationship with Riverdale's young music teacher, Ms. Grundy (Sarah Habel). Which means Archie doesn't have anyone who will mentor him - certainly not singer Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray), who is only focused on her band, the soon-to-be-world-famous Pussycats.
It's all weighing heavily on Archie's mind - as is his fractured friendship with budding writer and fellow classmate Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse). Meanwhile, girl-next-door Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) is anxious to see her crush Archie after being away all summer, but she's not quite ready to reveal her true feelings to him. And Betty's nerves - which are hardly soothed by her overbearing mother Alice (Madchen Amick) aren't the only thing holding her back. When a new student, Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes), arrives in town from New York with her mother Hermione (Marisol Nichols), there's an undeniable spark between her and Archie, even though Veronica doesn't want to risk her new friendship with Betty by making a play for Archie. And then there's Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch)... Riverdale's Queen Bee is happy to stir up trouble amongst Archie, Betty, and Veronica, but Cheryl is keeping secrets of her own. What, exactly, is she hiding about the mysterious death of her twin brother, Jason? Riverdale may look like a quiet, sleepy town, but there are dangers in the shadows...

I had no intention of became a Riverdale fan but when I found out the late Luke Perry was in it I decided to give it try. I don't have Netflix so I started to watch it online but I couldn't get into until about the 7th episode and I am huge fan now. I have always been fan of the Archie comics and Jughead Jones was always my favorite and I love his character in more in Riverdale. The one that I couldn't stand in comic series was the love triangle between Betty, Archie and Veronica so the fact that pair Betty up with Jughead for Riverdale was totally won me over. I was just wondering if there any other fans of the show.

Wow. I used to reach Archie comics as a kid and this sounds WAY more salacious than they ever were. Tongue

I might have to check this out.

It's an absolutely amazing show! It gets better as you go on. It's not the best starting out, but later episodes are absolutely a 10/10. I've watched it and watched it again and watched it again.

Alright, I finally found Riverdale on Netflix, and.... WOW.

The show is definitely not like the comics. Tongue It's good though. Salacious as can be.

Only a few episodes in, but its good so far. I'm going to keep watching. Thanks for the recommendation.

You are quite welcome. I didn't think I was going to like it at first but once I got into I totally love it. I've always been a fan of Cole and Dylan Sprouse but I couldn't never choose between them until I started watching Riverdale because Cole is now my favorite of them.

He's a good Jughead, surprisingly. At first I was... very skeptical. It works though, for the character they've designed for it.
