Rare Black Rhino Born in Michigan Zoo
The Potter Park Zoo in Lansing, Michigan, welcomed a critically endangered black rhino calf into the world this week.

According to the zoo, the birth marks the first time one of these rare rhino has been born there in its 100-year history. Doppsee, the zoo's 12-year-old female black rhino, gave birth to her first calf, a male, on Christmas Eve. The animal care and veterinary staff at the zoo report that the calf stood up about an hour and a half after birth and appears to be nursing well.

Always a good thing to have an endangered species give birth. Hopefully there will be more.

Good news. We need more Rhino and Tigers. In the wild not in a zoo.
